If there is one shining light in all this it's this: When the financial markets finally hit the wall, the people who will be hurt the most will not be the poor or even middle class. It will be the people who are holding all the paper promises (the 1%)
So far, all the government-induced distortions of the markets have been engineered to help the 1% (at the cost of everyone else.) But that game can only go on for so long and when it finally breaks the rapid descent and evaporation of paper wealth is going to be breathtaking.
Nature will take care of this. The curve will even out.
