There are retracements.

Then there are Crashes.

A year ago, we had a doozy of the latter. The 2nd biggest decline in Wall Street history. The so-called "Flash Crash" in which $1 TRILLION in value temporarily went up in smoke.

Many people erroneously believe that:

a) These things happen so rarely as to not being worth worrying about - WRONG
b) That they will get ample warning to get out ahead of time - WRONG
c) That if they receive a sign that it's time to get out, they will be psychologically prepared to get out in a timely manner - Most probably WRONG
d) That they will get a clear signal, have the fortitude to exit and there will be a enough room at the door to get out...
